Averill has worked in communications for more than 15 years. From Las Vegas, Boston, Washington DC, Tokyo and Miami, she has launched restaurants from the inside and out, including those for the early growth of celebrated chef Todd English. In 2010, Averill moved to Palm Beach to fulfill a lifelong dream, opening the smash hit Būccan, and Imoto, with her husband, James Beard Award-nominee chef Clay Conley.
In addition to working on her family's restaurants in Palm Beach, she also launched Brickhouse PR and directed the PR for the new, star-studded Palm Beach Food & Wine Festivals.
For several years, as the communications director for The International SeaKeepers Society, she focused her efforts on generating awareness for marine conservation issues and produced signature events around the country and in Monaco, St Maarten and Cannes, attracting support from the niche audience of the megayacht owner and crew. She continues her community work in support of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign.
In her free time, Averill is a student of life, studying Psychosynthesis, practicing yoga, crossfit and meditation, cooking/dining/traveling, and dancing with her 3 year old daughter and infant son.
